Holiday Happenings This Week in the Golden Isles
December 17
Come out to the Christmas Tree in the Halyards/Tramici courtyard on SSI for pictures with Santa starting at 5:00 p.m. Photos will be $10 each to raise money for Second Harvest or bring a bag of canned goods.
Ember on SSI is hosting a Night of Jazz Holiday Party with Michael Hulett from 6:30-9:30pm. Normal dinner service (reservations strongly recommended) with holiday festivities thrown in, including Christmas attire, a visit from the Grinch and friends, trivia questions, prizes, raffles & games. No cover.
December 18
Holiday High Tea at the Jekyll Island Club Resort. From 3:00-5:00 p.m., enjoy the sounds of the season as you sip your choice of tea from the Resort’s expansive selection and dine on tea sandwiches, soup, scones and holiday sweets. Tickets on eventbrite.com.
Santa will be at Porch on SSI from 5:00-6:30 p.m., so come celebrate the last day the kids are in school and stay to enjoy live music by George Alread from 6-8:00 p.m. Photos are welcome.

Christmas Cookie Decorating. This fun family activity at the Morgan Center on Jekyll Island takes place from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and is a delicious holiday tradition for all ages. Tickets on eventbrite.com.

Holiday Break Movie at the Casino. Bring the kids out to see animated feature “The Grinch.” Showtimes at 11:00 am., 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. $1 per person per screening. Concessions available for purchase. Cash only.
Historic Gingerbread House Building at MOSAIC, The Jekyll Island Museum. From 6:30-8:30 p.m., design your own historic gingerbread house inspired by the cottages of the Club Era millionaires during this evening of family-friendly fun! Tickets required. 912.689.9294.

A Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story of Christmas at The Ritz Theatre. Golden Isles Arts & Humanities presents Dickens' immortal tale of Scrooge’s magical night discovering the true meaning of Christmas. Friday and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 3:00 pm goldenislesarts.org

Teddy Bear Tea at The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort. Kids are invited to bring their favorite stuffed companion for a special tea from 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. with delicious treats, story time, cookie decorating, plus a gift and photo. Tickets on eventbrite.
Winter Carnival in Jekyll Island’s Beach Village from 1:00-5:00 p.m. Free rides, games, bounce houses, and music on the Village Green followed by fireworks at 7:30 p.m. jekyllisland.com/event/winter-carnival
