Living in the Golden Isles has many perks! The climate is agreeable year round and living near the water allows us to always enjoy the outdoors in some way. Our community does such a great job organizing and putting on different events that cater to each individuals interests. This weekend there are several fun things happening!
Saturday, August 25th 2018
Jekyll Island, 10 am- Rehabilitated sea turtles will be released at Great Dunes beach access. This is such a fun event to bring your family to. Remember to bring a chair, hat and sunscreen! Enjoy the rest of the day on the beach! Bring a cooler and cook out under one of the awesome Jekyll Beach Pavilions. Or stop by the playground near the beach on your way home! Its one of the best playgrounds in the Golden Isles for all ages.
Jekyll Island, 7:30 pm- Movie on the Green. Bring a blanket or beach chairs and some snacks. Watch the sunset and enjoy, "Frozen" on a giant blow up movie screen right on Beach Village Green. You will score big kudos with your kids for this one!
St Simons, 3:30 pm- Golden Isles King Mack Attack. Bring a chair and come watch the boats race in for their King Mackerel weigh ins at Gascoigne Park. Winners will be announced around 7pm.
Sunday, August 26th 2018
St Simons, 7 pm- Sounds by the Sea. This is a local favorite! Bring a chair, blanket, snacks/drinks and lounge on the grass at Neptune Park. Watch the sun go down and the big cargo ships go by as you listen to a blend of jazz and salsa performed by Savannah based musicians, Maggie and Jackson Evans.
